GROWING TOGETHER בם”ד RABBI AARON GROSS DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT Dear Honored Guests, Thank you so much for joining us at Bais Yaakov’s 75 th Anniversary Dinner as we celebrate the school’s rich and illustrious history. When comparing later generations to those who preceded them, our seforim hakedoshim often quote the parable of “ nanoss al gabei anak ”, a small person standing on the shoulders of a giant. Clearly, the giant can see farther than the shorter person standing alone. However, once he mounts the shoulders of the taller person, the smaller individual is able to use the additional height provided by the giant to see an even greater distance. So too, the knowledge or achievements of later generations are in so many ways built upon the wisdom, greatness and accomplishments of earlier individuals and the foundation they laid for us. Despite having joined Bais Yaakov only a short year ago, I have quickly come to appreciate what makes our school the outstanding mossad hachinuch it is. I have been extremely impressed by the inspired dedication and professionalism of Bais Yaakov’s lay leadership, executive office leadership and staff, Menahalim, Moros and educational support staff, all working together to ensure our collective success. The exciting sights and sounds of our talmidos learning or engaged in productive activities, all with the requisite simchas hachaim, are a true pleasure to behold any day of the school year. Baruch Hashem, we have so much to be thankful for. Tonight we reflect on our past and present as Bais Yaakov stands proudly and firmly on the shoulders of the giants who have preceded us over the last seventy-five years, including the special people we are paying tribute to here this evening. The mesiras nefesh and selfless dedication of those individuals, serve as the bedrock upon which we will b’ezras Hashem build our bright future. I feel privileged and consider it a great zechus to be part of Bais Yaakov, and look forward to our accomplishing great things together, on behalf of our daughters and the role they will play in the eternity of Torah and Klal Yisroel.
