Bais Yaakov Annual Report

4 Preschool & Elementary Life is not a worksheet, it’s a story. And so is school. Our students learn through the journey and take pride in the end results. They rise to the challenge of everyday rigorous academics while enjoying opportunities to personally connect with Hashem , develop yiras shamayim , participate in hands-on learning, emulate magnificent role models and practice the arts of middos and personal development. Connecting with Torah We’re finding the letters of our names in a sefer Torah , and letting our talents shine in dramatic Parsha skits. Our Moros bring us special Shabbos treats, and we’re learning that davening is as much about the emotions in our hearts as it is about the motions of our bodies. Reading and Kriyah Leveled systems and lots of individual attention help us master our skills so no one falls through the cracks. We read for fun, for research, for our Cookie Board or for our Malkas Tehillim program. Alight with Wonder Science, math and technology are exciting and relevant. We’re typing and printing our own reports, watching real live scientists perform experiments, meeting furry friends, and learning alongside our mothers at the annual Math Expo. Life-ademics Whether we’re greeting a police officer, writing a persuasive letter to a business, learning math with manipulatives, or understanding the middos of our Imahos (Matriarchs) , we’re preparing for real life. Growing into Ourselves Our own school counselors teach us the social skills that help us make friends and stay positive. This year, we’re also studying the art of Simchas HaChaim (happiness) through activities, songs, videos and plays.
